It`s time to remember – Say NO to Road Crime

The third Sunday of November each year is marked throughout the world to remember the millions of people who died in road accidents, but also to support the families of the victims.

Road deaths and injuries are sudden, violent, traumatic events. Their impact is long-lasting, often permanent. Each year, millions of newly injured and bereaved people from every corner of the world are added to the countless millions who already suffer. The cumulative toll is truly tremendous.

More than 3400 people die daily on the world`s roads and tens of thousands are disabled for life. The devastation that these incidents wreak on victims, their families, friends and communities is incalculable.

In Kosovo this Memorial Day was marked with a number of activities and also with a protest calling for greater safety on the roads but also to remember the 112 lives lost (01 January -15 November 2015), of the citizens in our country as a result of traffic accidents.

All these activities were  a civil initiative which were also supported by civil society and some institutions of the country, I would like to highlight the support of citizens and some of these institutions, who are sincerely thanking you for the continued support and assistance. Office of the President of Kosovo, MI, Kosovo Police, Municipality of Prishtina, College Tempulli, Kosovo Association of Motorists-AMRKS, Forum Kosovo Road Safety, Blood Transfusion, Fire Brigade and Cyclist Community.
