International Conference “Road Safety and the road towards EU”

AMRKS and College Tempulli brought, in Prishtina, representatives from six EU countries.

International Conference “Road safety and the road towards EU” held last week in Pristina, exactly on 22 and 23 January 2014, brought together about 100 participants from the country, region and Europe. Throughout the two days, the conference speakers in four separate panels, were discussed professional aspects related to road safety, traffic and transport.

In the Conference, with their speeches and presentations have contributed respective representatives of local and international institutions. Governmental institutions were represented (at the level of deputy. Ministers), Ministry of European Integration, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and on behalf of the Minister of MEST, spoke the chief of cabinet of this Ministry.  From other institutions of the country: Kosovo Police, Kosovo Judicial Council, Kosovo Forum for Road Safety, Kosovo Insurance Bureau, Companies from insurance industry in Kosovo, Office of General Auditor of Kosovo, College Tempulli, University of Prishtina Mechanical Engineering department, Kosovo Association of motorization-AMRKS, Driving Schools Federation of Kosovo, the Council of Kosovo students, the Council of Kosovo teachers, etc. have participated as well.

Accredited International institutions in Prishtina, the EU office, Embassy of Austria, OSCE, ALBACH, ICITAP.

Participants from the region were: the National Road Safety Council of the Republic of Macedonia and Albania, Accredited Centre by the IRU Academy, AMERIT the Republic of Macedonia, Albania Insurance Association, Albanian Auto Club from Albania, Technical University of Vienna, Road Safety Council Austria (KFV), TUV Austria, Promotrans Association from France, Automobile Association of Slovenia (AMZS), IRU International transport Academy from Switzerland, SPMUDA international, etc.

The conference had a very busy agenda, where 27 speakers contributed with their discussions and presentations, 11 within the country and 16 from the region and Europe. After discussions, during the conference are emerged several concluding recommendations, which will be submitted to the local and international institutions responsible or who may contribute to road safety, traffic and transport.

 

During this conference the representative of KFV (Austrian Road Safety Council) Professor Hauger, signed cooperation agreements on behalf of the CSE (Connect South East) with the College of Technical Applied Science Tempulli,  and with the Kosovo Association of motorization  AMRKS.
